How often should I run a vehicle history check?

Once, right before you're ready to buy — ideally within a day or two of handing over any money. A check run weeks earlier can miss events reported in the meantime, such as new finance being taken out against the vehicle.

If there's a delay between viewing the car and completing the purchase, it's worth re-running the check just before payment, especially for private sales.
